I’m about 4 inches long as an adult. 3-5 sentences. I spend time both on land and in water. I’m closely related to the wood turtle. In the winter in bury in the ground and hibernate. Females lay one clutch per year with an average of 3 eggs. Biography: One of the reasons why we are endangered is because female’s have a very low reproductive rate. They only lay an average of 3 eggs per year. Also it takes from 4-10 years before we can even start reproducing. Another reason we are endangered is because of habitat destruction. Since our habitat is also a very desirable place for humans to build their homes, we often lose ours. Hopefully with all of the efforts to protect us people will stop taking away our homes. Also since we are very handsome little critters people are selling us on the black market as pets. Personal Information: A lot of my day is spent finding food. Turtles have a large habitat and within our habitat we know where to find food, water, and other resources. That is why if we are removed from our habitat we often die. I live with about 20 other bog turtles in a colony so I have a nice little group of friends!
