5 INNO-Actions – 3 new actions European innovation weeks Innovation information days for SMEs European label for cluster management excellence Objectives To bring innovation closer to the citizens by showcasing regional excellence and innovativeness. To strengthen the role and visibility of the EEN in the regions and to foster cooperation among different providers of innovation support for the benefit of SMEs. To develop a European quality scheme for cluster organisations in view to promote the professionalization and excellence of cluster management in Europe. Specific activities  Preparatory and mobilisation activities  Organisation of 6 highly visible regional innovation awareness events – contributing to support the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009  Recommendations for further developing the concept of 'innovation weeks'  Mapping and documentation of all kinds of innovation support services for SMEs provided in the region  Organisation of minimum 20 "Open Doors" events preferentially in conjunction with other regional events  Promotional activities  Creation of a "European Cluster Managers' Club“  Development of a European quality scheme for cluster organisations  Development, testing and validation of a training programme for cluster organisations Budget (total EC contribution) € 2.5 Mio - 2 years€ 2.0 Mio - 2 years Restricted call for proposals to EEN partners € 1.5 Mio - 3 years Promotion of PRO INNO Europe results - 1 Service contract (€ 1 Mio): Facilitating the networking of PRO INNO Europe stakeholders (ie.
