2.  This genre of music originated in the mid -1990s in the united kingdom hence it being called UK Garage.  Artists such as The artful Dodger, Mc Dynamite, Oxide And Neutrino And Shola Ama are the artists who carried this music genre into the mainstream, whilst Dizzee Rascal and Wiley helped bring a new sub- genre which was grime. History  Jungle music was very popular at this time, this then all Garage to be heard as in every event the second room there would be another DJ playing this genre alone.  DJ’s commonly played the dub version of songs (without vocals) they then started to play the dubs with reggae vocals which they did in most genres which originated from Electronic.  In 2002 there was an evolution into two main direction, the first was 2-step which moved away from its funky and soul-oriented sound into a darker and more underground genre we now know as grime. (If you look at the BPM’s they all range from 138-143 which is the common element in the modern garage)  The sub-genre grime was then pushed back underground because of the bad publicity and publicised violence which surrounded members of So Solid Crew.  UK garage Also known as UKG

3. UK Garage This genre of music was evolutional to the raving scene and changed the way people have a good night out.. Events organised by Sidewinder helped club owner recognise this genre as is was not as popular as other genres as it did not get as much promotion as Pop and Hip Hop music. Night clubs such as Ministry of Sound and Niche (which are both in London) are the night clubs which people of the older generation went to enjoy themselves. As this was in the mid 90’s my target audience have now aged and are probably now in there early 30’s and late 20’s, this genre also appeals to the late teens as some of them might have had older siblings that listened to this genre, this is why my target audience’s age ranges are so far apart.

4. MJ Cole This is an interview by MJ Cole who is a pioneer of the UK garage scene. In this interview he explains how he started his interest in music and how he helped the UK Garage scene. MJ Cole like other artists such as artful dodger where very important people as they helped artists produce music which turned out to become hits. 5. The crime which caused UK Garage to Break. So soild crew members where linked with firearms and linked with crime. Some members jailed for possession of a firearm, one person was fined for GBH. These unfortunate events was linked in with the groups lyrical content which was also linked with there lifestyle, this therefore made the group become more famous however this publicity was bad and therefore made the whole music genre look bad. This therefore made the genre become underground as this genre was linked directly with crime by the public.
