2. The 19 th Century… In the 19 th century the automobile was more simply built than they are now… The mass production of cars started when Henry ford introduced the assembly line where parts were hand crafted and then placed on vehicles.

3. The 21 st Century… Today the automotive industry has advanced to an unthinkable level… Today we have automated assembly lines where machines do most of the work and workers just monitor and maintain the machines. Many big name companies do this.

4. 19 th century uses… In the 19 th century the automobile was used for many things including… Farming… took a work load off of farmers. Racing… sponsored by William K. Vanderbilt. Short range traveling… Transporting goods…

5. 21 ST Century uses In the 21 st century cars have many more uses… Transporting goods… Tanker trucks. Picking up garbage… Waste management. Farming… Machinery based off of vehicles. Personal delivery… Ex: USPS/UPS/Fed EX Racing… Nascar and many other industries. Long distance travel… Greyhound Busses.

6. Interview… The automotive industry caused a raise in the economy until imported cars began to catch on, being cheaper and more efficient. Cars were used for many reasons including for transportation and traveling. The need for growth influenced its development. It helped make the U.S a more tight knit nation.
