5 Feedback “It was great to have the chance to get to know my counsellor before I had to commit to anything. It made me feel like they care that I am okay” “I had an assessment in 2009 and I dropped out after that. I just wanted to die. I just had another one to get back into the system. The assessor came to me instead of me having to get to a strange place on the bus. She made sure that I was all right all the way through. It was way better. I felt like a person instead of a number. It felt like ACC actually care about me.”

6 Feedback “It is so cool to be able to just do the work I need to do, and not always worry about whether I am going to get more hours or not, or whether I have met the goals or not.” “Under the old way, I was always working to make sure I still got ACC funding. I never really got the chance to deal to the abuse stuff. Now though, I can deal with all that. I don’t have to worry about funding any more.”

7 Feedback “I really like it that (my service co-ordinator) rings me quite often. It feels like he really cares about me as a person.” “I was really scared to start counselling, but everyone is cool. They check with me all that time about what I want and what is important to me. Like, ACC rings heaps, and they talk to my counsellor heaps as well. It’s like they are all on my side and want me to get well again.”
