2. Description Mass Flow Rate- you use when the fluid is a gas, sometimes a liquid. It is the fluid mass flowing out of a pipe at a given time.

3. Common example 1 Air conditioning is a common example of mass flow rate. An AC unit moves a quantity of air in a given time. This is not an example of volume flow rate because it is moving a gas not a liquid.

4. Common Example 2 A paintball gun is also an example of mass flow rate. The compressed air moves throughout the gun pressurizing the chamber until it is released. Then the air refills the chamber again.
