But how many total hours did you work that day?

Step 1: Deal with AM and PM by adding 12 to the PM number. So 5:30pm = 17:30 Step 2: Now subtract the start time of 10:00am from the finish time of 17:30 (aka 5:30pm). 17:30 -10:00 7:30
