2. To Login to Destiny: First, go to the Library Homepage. If you’re at school you may click on the “Book Search” icon. Or, you may go to http://destiny.springisd.org/ and then click on the link to your school.http://destiny.springisd.org/

3. From the library home page, Login to Destiny to use any of the Advanced Features. Click on the “LOGIN” button near the upper right corner of our Destiny homepage.

4. Enter your school username & password to login. Reminder: Your username is the first letter of your last name, the first letter of your first name, and your student ID number. John Doe, #000123 would be DJ000123. Your password is your birth date in YYYYMMDD format. May 2, 1999, would be 19990502.

5. You’ll know that you are logged in when your name appears at the upper right side of your Destiny screen.

7. How to Write a Review and Rate a Book: 1. Click on the “Catalog” tab on the upper left of the screen. 2. Enter the search words for the book you want to review. (Here we’re looking for the book Monster by Walter Dean Myers.)

8. On the search results page, click on the title of the book you want to review….

9. On the book details page, click on the “Reviews” tab on the upper right side of the screen.

10. Then click on the “Add Review” button on the right of the next screen.

11. 1. Here you may rate your book from 1 to 5 stars. 2. This is where you enter the text of your review. Please remember to use “school appropriate language” since your review can be read by students and teachers across the district! Please tell us why you liked or didn’t like your book. Explain your opinion! You should not sign your name at the end because you are online (privacy and protection for you). The librarians will still know who you are, even if you don’t sign your name.) 3. Save your work when you’re finished!

15. Next, click on the HOLD IT! box.

16. If your book is available now, you’ll be asked to pick it up. If your book is already checked out, the library staff will send your English teacher an e-mail when it comes in.

18. How to create your own book list: Be sure you’re logged in. (For help logging in, click here.)click here Go to the catalog book search page. Click on the “Resource Lists” link on the left side of the page.

19. Click on the “My Personal List” link. Of course, if this is your first time, your list will be empty. Here’s how to add books to your list…

20. To add a book to your personal list, go back to the catalog book search page and search for a book. (Here we’re searching for Monster by Walter Dean Myers.)

21. On the search results page, click on the “Add to this list” link for the correct book.

22. Once a book is on your personal list, the former “Add to this list” link will now say “In this list”.

23. To check the contents of your list Click on the “Resource Lists” link on the left side of the book search catalog page. Then click on the “My Personal List – View” link.

24. When you’ve added books to your list they will appear on this page.

27. On the “My Info” page you’ll see the books you have checked out – and their due dates. If you owe fines, they will appear here. Your holds will appear on this page, too.
