29 Human Adaptations Place your pencil on your desk.
Now, pick it up with one hand. Was that difficult? Describe how you picked it up in your NB Now place your pencil on your desk. Without using any part of your thumb pick it up. Get it in the writing position. Now, describe in your NB if this was easier or more difficult. What other activities does having a thumb – make them more easier to accomplish? Can you button a shirt w/o your thumb. What would our civilization be like without this adaptation?
