1. HCAM Registration for 2015-2016 What Students Need to Know

2. Homeroom March 18th Homeroom March 18 th to get materials – Curriculum guide, course request sheets, copy of this presentation FYI: This PowerPoint presentation can be found online on the HCAM website and will be shared in the google drive.

3. Rising 10 th – 12 th Grade Registration  Rising 10 th – 12 th grade registration is scheduled for March 18th-31st.  Please turn in your registration forms to your homeroom teachers by March 31 st.  If you have a question about registration please attend the information session on March 26 th at 6:30 or fill out a registration appointment form in student services. Counselors will also be meeting with each student.  Do not worry if you have not been called for registration until after March 31 st.

4. March 26th: Evening Registration Event HCAM will be having a registration night for rising 10 th -12 th graders and their parents on March 26 th at 6:30. Please bring your registration forms and any questions to this session.

5. Course Request Sheets – Step 1 The first part of the registration sheet will have contact information. Complete this section entirely and provide correct contact information in case we need to change your schedule over the summer

6. Course Request Sheets – Step 2 The second part will have core classes with the option of honors. Students who are interested in honors must have a parents signature to do so.

7. Course Request Sheets – Step 3 Please circle your academy with the required electives. If you have already taken the electives provided please print the course name on the line provided.

8. Signatures Required Do you want to take an Honors class? You MUST have a parent signature beside all classes that you would like to be honors.

9. NEW: Dual-Enrollment at HHS If you are interested in taking a class at Hickory High school. Please fill out a registration appointment form in student services to meet with the counselor to discuss your options.

10. FYI: NEW Grading & GPA Scales Effective 2015-2016 school year Effective for ALL grades 10-point grading scale (vs. our current 7-point scale) with new corresponding GPA – A = 90 – 100 = 4.0 GPA – B = 80 – 89 = 3.0 GPA – C = 70 – 79 = 2.0 GPA – D = 60 – 69 = 1.0 GPA – F = Below 60 = still a 0.0 GPA
