4. “In the year 2000, young people living in families within the lowest 20% of family income were six times more likely to drop out of high school than students whose families were in the top 20% of family income. This statistic troubles me, through educational leadership I desire all students from all families of varying incomes to have equal opportunity within our public schools. Through mentoring our youth and valuing a diverse community, we must create equal opportunities for all students, especially those in the lower income families who are more inclined to drop out.
