4 Why use onomatopoeia's in your beginnings? Great beginnings hook the reader! Sounds are another way to start a story. Let’s see how some authors use sounds to start their stories. Ok, let’s moove on…..

5 Example Boring or exciting?  One rainy day I went to the mall.  Splish! Splash! My boots sloshed through the puddles as I ran for the mall entrance.

6 Now let’s try it! I went to the zoo. You come up with a revision! What might you hear at the zoo?
