1. Test Rules Every student must register for a test time. Failure to register WILL result in a penalty on your test score. Go to www.mtlc.ua.edu and select the Test Reservation link.www.mtlc.ua.edu Select the registration link for your course. Enter your student ID followed by your course number (12345678.100 for example) Select a day and time that doesn’t conflict with any other part of your schedule. Keep the confirmation email you will receive. Without it you have no proof in case something goes wrong.

2. Test Rules Changes in registration days/times may be made using the MTLC website up until the close of registration at noon on the Friday before test week. Any changes made after Friday at noon must be done in person at the MTLC and WILL result in a penalty on your test score.

3. Test Rules We generally begin the process about 15 minutes ahead of schedule to ensure that everyone has sufficient time to take the test without undue pressure on the students or the MTLC staff. You DO NOT HAVE to be there 15 minutes early, but if it doesn’t interfere with other classes it would be helpful to you and us. Bring a picture ID (student ID or driver’s license). We cannot allow you to take your test unless we know it’s you.

4. Test Rules NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED. No cell phones, blackberries, or texting devices of any kind No music devices of any kind No calculators. You may use the calculator on the computer and that one ONLY. Any violation is grounds for charges of academic misconduct.

5. Test Rules When you enter the testing area all books, notebooks, purses, etc. must be put away ON THE FLOOR. You do not need scratch paper. Scratch paper with your name on it will be provided for you by the MTLC. You MAY NOT use your own paper for the test. Pens and pencils will NOT be provided. You must bring your own.

6. Test Rules You may study ahead of time in the lab as space allows. In particular, the practice test is a good representation of the test material. Scratch paper and last minute instructions will be given out in the hallway. If you are studying in the lab, you do not need to swipe out when you get ready to take the test. You do need to remember to swipe out when you leave after your test. If you are not already in the lab, swipe in just before you line up to get your test paper.

7. Test Rules The test software is equipped with “next” and “previous” buttons. Use these to navigate between test questions. NEVER click on the browser’s “Back” button. This will take you out of your test and you will be required to start from the beginning with new questions. For security reasons, any restart must be done immediately. Students may not leave and come back later to restart the test.

8. Test Rules DO NOT click the “submit” button to score your test. An MTLC staff member MUST be present to submit the score. Scores from the student gradebook will not be accepted.
