2 Ed Sheeran: Early Life Ed was born in West Yorkshire, on the 17 February, 1991. He moved to Framlington, Suffolk when he was a small child. He has one older brother, Matthew. He met singer-songwriter Damien Rice backstage at one of Damiens shows

3 Ed Sheeran: Career Begginings Ed began recording music in early 2005, and he released his first independent EP “The Orange Room” He moved to London and started to play minor gigs in bars and other venues. The rapper, ‘Example’ invited Ed to tour with him in 2009.

4 Ed Sheeran : Career Beginnings In April 2010, while attending a concert in America, Jamie Foxx (Owner of Foxxhole) offered Ed his recording studio in his Hollywood home, for the rest of his stay. Ed used Youtube and got a lot of views, and became famous on the internet. In early 2011, he gained mainstream attention and reached 2 nd in the iTunes charts without any label or promotions Later that month, he was signed at Atlantic Records and became an international pop-star.

5 Ed Sheeran: International Success Ed Sheeran became internationally successful when he appeared on the popular TV music show, ‘Later… With Jools Holland’ where he performed his song ‘The A Team’ which reached number 3 in the charts. Ed played at the Diamond Jubilee for the Queen and sang at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.

6 Ed Sheeran: International Success Ed released the album ‘X’ (also known as ‘multiply’) in mid 2014, and it was his second studio album, the first being ‘+’. ‘X’ reached number 1 in the UK Album Chart and in the US Billboard 200. His producer for the album, Rick Rubin, advised Ed to go with an “acoustically upbeat style” and Ed replied with the lead single ‘sing’.

7 Ed Sheeran: International Success He performed his album track, ‘Tenerife Sea’ at Madison Square Garden in New York in late 2013. Thinking Out Loud’s music video was released on the 8 th October 2014 and already had over 3 million views within the first 24 hours of being on Youtube.

8 Ed Sheeran: Performers Ed has performed with many artists such as; Taylor Swift Martin Garrix Foy Vance Elton John One Direction Example Leddra Chapman Nizlopi

9 Ed Sheeran: Charity Ed Sheeran performed a gig in Bristol and raised over £40,000 for street sex workers. He said “It's good to show insight that these people are real people with real emotions and they deserve the same charity work as anyone else” and also, he said “There's a lot more popular charities that get a lot of attention. And with certain subjects like this they're often washed over and people don't necessarily give them the attention they deserve”. Ed Sheeran is an inspiration to young people. 10 Ed Sheeran Ed Sheeran is my favourite artist because I love the style of songs that he does. My favourite song by Ed, is ‘Don’t’. I really like this song because the lyrics tell a story and the story applied to his life (so I’ve heard) And there isn’t a deep meaning to it but I love the way it goes.
