The secondary sector Energy industry: supplies homes and other industries with the energy they need. Base industries: transform raw materials into semi-finished products. The metal – machine components. The chemical – detergents. Capital goods industries: use these semi-finished products to help manufacture different products. Machinary and equipment – cars parts industry. Consumer goods industries: use the products produced by the base and capital good industries. – cars, clothing etc.

The tertiary sector The tertiary sector provides services and is the largest economic sector in Spain. Tourism: supplies accommodation and entertainment for tourists. Transport: moves goods and people. Land transport. Air transport. Water transport. Media and communications: provide us with information. Trade: buying and selling goods. Domestic trade: within one country. Foreign trade: between different countries. Other services Private sector: banks, shops and restaurants. Public sector: hospitals, schools and libraries.

Tourism It is one of the most important services in the tertiary sector. Different types of tourism: Beach tourism. Cultural tourism. Rural tourism. Adventure tourism. Ecological tourism.
