6 PROJECT # 1 100 SCHOLARS FOR 100 YEARS To offer financially challenged young Filipinos the opportunity of a CHS education To increase the enrollment in CHS To express our appreciation to the school where we learned our core values, strengthened our discipline, honed our skills and talents To honor a loved one

7 Current cost of a CHS education Most courses average P60,000 a year ~$1500 Nursing – P120,000 per year ~$3000 ( includes tuition and miscellaneous expenses)

9 GOALS 100 SCHOLARS BY FEBRUARY 2013 TIMELINE – WE HAVE 24MONTHS FROM FEB 2011 TO FEB 2013 CAN WE ASK FOR ONE SCHOLARSHIP PER BATCH?

10 GOALS To raise funds for 100 scholars by February 2013 To raise at least P6 million (100 scholars x P60,000 per scholar) a year or a total of P24M for four years to support the scholars until graduation To establish a CHS Scholarship Endowment Fund

14 Project # 2 CHS – A CENTER FOR LIFELONG LEARNING Create an atmosphere of dynamism and purposeful activity in the college Engage the alumnae and tap their rich treasure trove of expertise and experience Provide alumnae, teachers and students with interesting and stimulating lectures throughout the year

15 CHS – A CENTER OF LIFELONG LEARNING A Lecture Series primarily offered by HGC/CHS Alumnae but can also be given by spouse, parent or children of alumnae Speakers to be invited to give lectures on their areas of expertise Deans to request for specific topics to complement their curriculum Alumnae to be asked to respond to survey on topics of interest to them

16 CHS – A CENTER OF LIFELONG LEARNING Lectures to be held in Mendiola so alumnae can feel “at home” and so that teachers and students can also attend Lectures can be “sponsored” by a class or a corporate donor (e.g. if the alumna works with them) Lectures can be a fund-raising event if the speaker is in great demand

20 CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION FEBRUARY 2013 – FEBRUARY 2014 Yearlong celebration to be kicked of in February 2013. Activities can include: GALA concert featuring alumnae and their family members art exhibition, theater performance, global roadshow (to engage alumnae abroad)

21 NEXT STEPS 1.We need volunteers for the Centennial Committees – at least one for every 5 years. -SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE -ALUMNAE LECTURE SERIES COMMITTEE -COFFEETABLE BOOK COMMITTEE -WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE -EVENTS COMMITEE

22 BATCH REPRESENTATIVES We need the batch representatives to: -Raise funds for at least one scholar -Encourage classmates with expertise to volunteer as lecturer -Start collecting stories, photos of your class for the Coffeetable Book

23 BATCH REPRESENTATIVES Make an extra effort to update your data base and encourage your classmates to join the activities on Feb 3, 2013.

26 Next Steps for Scholarships Identify class rep for Centennial Committee Each class to commit to one scholar Review and update class data base Ask each alumna to ‘give or get’ Ask each alumna to refer us to – – High networth friends and colleagues – Corporate network – Other possible funders

27 Next Steps Each class to plan other activities to raise funds for scholarships Class Rep to report on these to Centennial Committee Create Centennial Committee page for CHS/CHSAF/CHSNAF website AF USA to add CHS Centennial Celebration to their dropdown menu for donations

28 Next Steps for Center for Lifelong Learning Each class to ask members for volunteer lecturers (or even volunteer professors or school officials) Sr. Genie to ask Deans to submit their requests for guest lecturers or topics they wish to have to enrich their curriculum Mechanics to be spelled out

29 Next Steps Creation of Alumnae Relations/Resource Development Office under Office of the President – will need funding (P50K/month or P600,000/year ~$15,000) Creation of a volunteer team (at least three per chapter) in the US specifically for Centennial Campaign
