MANAGEMENT

Management Concerns  People will never come to work – I’ll never see them.  How will we know if we’re getting ‘40 hours’ out of them?  What about wage and hour laws and hourly workers?  Teamwork will suffer. Relationships will suffer.  What about face time? Body language?  How will we develop employees? How will we manage performance?  We’re meeting oriented. How will we schedule meetings?  Aren’t some meetings mandatory?  How will we know if our employees are really working?  We’re different. I don’t see how this could work.  What about technology? What about fire-drills?  Freedom will be used to take advantage of the company.  What about project-based work?

JUDGMENT

Each person is free to do whatever they want, whenever they want as long as the work gets done.

Imagine a place where… …people at all levels stop doing any activity that is a waste of their time, the customer’s time, or the company’s money… …employees have the freedom to work any way they want… …every day feels like Saturday… …work isn’t a place you go, it’s something you do… …people have an unlimited amount of paid time off as long as the work gets done…

…arriving at the workplace at 2 p.m. is not considered coming in late… …nobody talks about how many hours they work …every meeting is optional… …it’s okay to catch a movie on a Tuesday afternoon… …it’s okay to grocery shop on a Wednesday morning… …leaving the workplace at 2 p.m. is not considered leaving early…

…nobody feels stressed out … overworked … guilty… …there are no work schedules… …there aren’t any last minute fire drills… …and there’s no judgment about how you spend your time. on a Thursday afternoon… …it’s okay to take a nap
