1 CEFPI is a Registered Provider with The American Institute of Architects Continuing Education Systems (AIA/CES). Credit(s) earned on completion of this program will be reported to AIA/CES for AIA members. Certificates of Completion for both AIA members and non-AIA members are available upon request. This program is registered with AIA/CES for continuing professional education. As such, it does not include content that may be deemed or construed to be an approval or endorsement by the AIA of any material of construction or any method or manner of handling, using, distributing, or dealing in any material or product. Questions related to specific materials, methods, and services will be addressed at the conclusion of each presentation.

2 Learning Objectives Where is Public Education in Texas Headed? At the end of this program, participants will be able to: 1. Understand the implications of the current lawsuits between School Districts and the State of Texas. 2.Understand the importance of addressing the many social issues involved. 3.Understand the importance of maintaining accountability of our educational system. 4.Review various educational models that could be adopted to better address the needs of students.

3 Learning Objectives Superintendents’ Panel on Educational Facilities At the end of this program, participants will be able to: 1. Understand the impact of recent changes in accountability systems on local public school districts. 2.Understand how local districts have responded to the changes in state funding in public schools. 3.Understand how local districts are changing how they deliver instruction to meet the needs for public accountability, while increasing flexibility to meet the needs of the students. 4.Understand the challenges places upon local school districts by private and charter schools.

4 Learning Objectives Construction Cost Outlook At the end of this program, participants will be able to: 1.Examine the size and growth projections for the educational construction market at the national, regional and local levels. 2.Identify factors at the global, national and regional levels which are contributing construction cost trends for the Central Texas education market. 3.Identify current cost trends and provide projections for near term (1-2 years) cost modeling. 4.Share long term (3-5+ years) cost projections based upon historic and current economic and cost data.
