8 Continuing the trend line… We can’t just add the scores for the Class of 2013 to this trend line due to: – The 2013 ACT scores include over 9,000 special education students who were given extended time. Although the scores are “ACT reportable” these scores were NOT counted 2008-2012 thus the data is skewed. – ACT recalibrates the College Readiness Benchmarks periodically based on the data they collect- the last time this was done was 2006. For 2013- the College Readiness Standard in Reading went up 1 point and in Science is went down 1 point.
