5 4 What are We Doing in These Classes for Student Achievement? Receptive language including both listening and reading. Fluency at the phrase, sentence, and passage levels. Comprehension instruction includes, but is not limited to: Vocabulary analysis; predicting outcomes; summarizing; visualizing, and questioning. Text structure, analysis of informational text and literature genres. Reading-writing connections: Note-taking and information organization from reading through the use of graphic organizers.
