2 Value Proposition A statistical survey 1 of 15,000 births in France (alive and stillborn) collected information (manually) on: –Conditions of pregnancy and delivery, the responsible birthing facility, and post-partum follow-up, parent’s social status, quality of care and the newborn preventive screening tests Results helped to –Have a better vision of the sanitary map for the perinatal period and make decision about future national investments to be done on perinatal healthcare systems infrastructure (370 M $ /3 years just in France, for example) This survey is supposed to be done regularly to monitor population health. This profile would facilitate data gathering and accuracy. 1. National perinatal survey in France, 2003 - INSERM, Ministry of Health

3 MCH - Profile Abstract Provides information to the healthcare providers regarding post-partum care, social environment and childcare developmental stages Improves data collection and leads to a better coordination between the different sources of healthcare information Saves time and resources in the data collection, improving accuracy and response time in nation- wide epidemiological studies based on health indicators

4 Scope Capability to capture health indicators directly from EHR as established by national programs and agencies Collection on established and standardized early childhood health indicators enabling federal multicentric surveys Reports child’s health state at an epidemiological relevant period of childhood Reports mother and child’s social environment and can trigger an intervention from social services if deemed necessary Anonymized information is aggregated and sent to Public Health and Clinical Research institutes in order to determine funding and/or actions needed.

5 Key Technical Properties Use of technologies such as: –XFORMS –XML/XSLT Use of RFD profile to construct and capture data concerning the targeted periods Both XFORMS and/or CDA formats can be used in order to capture the data to be sent, solutions which are already existant in EHRs
