 A Savanna is considered a grassland because the rainfall amount is so small that it cant support trees, the only things that can grow is shrubs and isolated trees. They are found between the equator and are on the edge of tropical rainforest.  The African biome is in danger from poaching and humans grazing cattle's. The grazing cattle causes the grass to deplete and turn the land into a desert. Humans as well cause many fires that destroy the land and they use the wood from the trees which causes problems for the environment. Poaching is a big problem as well as it causes the animals to go extinct.

 The Savanna Biome covers only 20% of the Earths surface.

The Savanna has the dry winters and wet summers. The dry season begins in October and ends in March, with them only getting 4 inches of rain a month. In these months animals must migrate thousands of miles in order to survive. The summer in the Savanna is very wet, the rainy season begins in May and ends in November with them getting as much as 30 inches of rain a month. These months are very hot and humid. Temperatures in the Savanna can reach as high as 30 degrees Celsius, and go as low as 20 degrees Celsius.

 The Savannah can be found on four continents in the world they are found in South America, Asia, Australia, and the one that everyone recognizes the most is Africa.

There are around 2 million large plant-eating mammals that live in the savanna, 45 species of mammals, almost 500 species of birds, and 55 species of Acacia. Africa has the highest diversity of hoofed animals. Many of the plants in the Savanna have developed long taproots to reach down to the water below. Some kinds of trees have thick fire resistant bark and trunks that can store water.
