8.  Ground – thin – rock underneath  Hearers Shallow hearted - shallow faith  Rootless Affliction comes Fall away

9.  Ground – thorns in the soil  Hearers Begins – thorns choke  Cares of this world Riches - possessions Pleasures

10.  Ground – Rich, deep  Hearers Honest and sincere  Bears Fruit 100, 60, 30 fold

11. Does not receive word Obeys but heart is hard Conquered by trials Fruitful receiver of word

12. Parable of the Soils Applies all through life Wayside – reject truth Stony – lose our faith Thorny – interested in life here Good -- faithful “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Col. 3:2
