“Christ” Christians are sowers of the seed Mark 16:15 “Go” “Preach” “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” 1 Cor.3:6

Ground – hard – seed cannot enter Hearers Hard hearted - unresponsive Birds Represents the devil Takes the word out of heart

Ground – thin – rock underneath Hearers Shallow hearted - shallow faith Rootless Affliction comes Fall away

Ground – thorns in the soil Hearers Begins – thorns choke Cares of this world Riches - possessions Pleasures

Ground – Rich, deep Hearers Honest and sincere Bears Fruit 100, 60, 30 fold

Does not receive word Obeys but heart is hard Conquered by trials Fruitful receiver of word

Parable of the Soils Applies all through life Wayside – reject truth Stony – lose our faith Thorny – interested in life here Good -- faithful “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Col. 3:2
