3 Objective: State the effects of the producer/consumer on the environment. (Strand VIII-AI) Related Vocabulary: ecology environment identified Activity: 1. The students will identify the food items the animals eat as food. 2. The students will identify the environment associated with these animals. 3. The students will identify the effects of over-population to an environment. Process: 1. The teacher will click through each of the slides, reading the instructions to the students. 2. Each slide is self-explanatory, but the teacher should run through the lesson prior to presenting them to the students. Related Activity: Each lesson is followed by a journal activity of some kind.

8 JOURNAL: If these living things... eat these foods... Leaves Tree Apples then, where do you think they live? Draw a picture of where you think these living things live and then write one sentence about each living thing and where they live.

9 JOURNAL #2: Let’s think about something! What would happen to the place they live, their environment, if there were too many of these living things? Describe what it would look like in 5 sentences.
