2 What are Roman Gladiators?
In general Roman Gladiators are criminals or slaves that were bought to be gladiators. Professionals were free and they were volunteers to fight. Sometimes they were prisoners of war!

3 Why did they fight? They fought because they have too. They might be slaves that are forced to fight or it was because they were prisoners or it was their job.

4 What did the Roman Gladiators wear?
They wore clothes that had kind of like armor to protect themselves from getting hit or injured or anything like that. Galea: Helmet, made of bronze. Manica: Arm-guard, could be made of quilted linen, leather, or metal. Ocrea: Greaves, made of bronze. Scutum: Shield Gladius: Short sword Pugio: Dagger Hasta: Spear

5 What Are The Different Types of Roman Gladiators?
Andabatae - They usually sit on a horse while fighting. Bestiarii – They fight with wild beasts and they usually use a spear or a dagger for protection. Equites – They fought with a “gladius” which was a special type of sword, They never fought without shirts and their fights were less brutal, almost involving no killing. Murmillones – They were known for their helmets with a fish on its crest. Hoplomachi – They are similar to the Murmillons but they had spears instead of the “Gladius” and they wore leg wrappings and shin guards. Retiarii – They fought with a dagger and held a small metal shield and a special protective armour for neck.
