4  Monday: New Spelling list and spelling practice…test on Friday!  Read 30 minutes and record on reading log  Reading Log is due on Friday!!!  Tuesday-Thursday: Math Homework  Study spelling words nightly for Friday’s spelling test

7  Anthology (Harcourt Trophies)  Focus will be on one story per week  Leveled reading books accompany each story  Small group instruction based on skills (fluency, comprehension, reading skills, phonics)  Partner and Independent work along with learning centers to provide practice on skills that have been taught

8  The child reads with expression.  The child reads aloud and then retells the story or content of the selection.  Listening comprehension and reading comprehension are at the same level.
