It has facts on the different storms and how the weather patterns change throughout the year. I used this book as a resource to help explain weather concepts to my students. Publisher: Holiday House Before understanding weather, you need to have the basic terms understood. This book introduces and defines the common terms that are used when describing weather patterns. I will use this book at the beginning of my unit to lay the fundamental vocabulary for my students. This is a 3.5 AR reading book. Not all my students will be able to read this book on their own because it is classified as non-fiction.

This book includes many different experiments that will enhance a weather unit. This is a 5.7 AR reading book.

It covers the basic information that a child might have about weather, but it also goes a step further by answering questions such as, can it rain cats and dogs?, by providing facts about record breaking weather. This book is a 4.6 AR reading book.

This will be used as a fun read for the students for a read aloud. One of the main focuses I am going to take out of this book is the weather instruments that Dr. Seuss uses when discussing weather. This book is on a 3.7 reading level.
