4 Parliamentary elections
Since the restoration of democracy (1975), the Greek two-party system has been dominated by the New Democracy (ND) and the PASOK. Austerity measures or not Election results of June 2012: coalition of ND (29%),PASOK (12%),Democratic Left(6%) (opposition party SYRIZA (26%) ) Consequences:popularity of radical parties, reform of health-care and pension system, increasing unemployment New Democracy (liberal-conservative) PASOK (social-democratic) Panhellenic Socialist Movement

5 Debt crisis Reasons: financial collapse of American banks and companies in 2008 and Greece had falsified their statistics about their economy for years The collapse of Greece would shake the economies of the southern European countries and would endanger the currently instable Eurozone. In May 2010 the other Eurozone countries, and the IMF, agreed to a rescue package which involved giving Greece an immediate €45 billion in loans, with more funds to follow, totaling €110 billion. Despite austerity measures it does not seems certain that Grecce is able to solve their debt problems.
