Columbus believed he could reach Asia sailing west.

Moved to Spain and got support from King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella.
Still took 6 years to set sail.

Took over 2 months
Columbus believed he was in the Indies.
Went on to “Japan” Cuba returned to Spain January 1493.
