1 Entry Task 1/14 Think back to yesterday’s scenes: – What triggered the flashback for Edward, and how did the music, lighting, and tone differ for the flashback? Today you will need vocab collection out on desk, journal, and writing utensil. Turn in your IRA #3 immediately.

2 Within your groups Each of you will take notes about the general literary elements: plot, setting and character, and cinematic techniques. Write your observations as you watch the film.

3 Think, Write, Discuss Look over your observation notes and choose the most significant example of your cinematic technique and write an analytical statement about it (much like the one you wrote as an Entry Task). Share your observation notes, and analytical statement with the group.

4 HW Think about your notes on what you observed from the film, and then answer the following questions: – What three cinematic techniques are most apparent in the film? Justify your answer. – What effect do these techniques have to the overall mood or tone? Explain with specifics from the film.
