2. History Questions  Who were early settlers in the region? In the spring of 1607,settlers from England chose this spot on the James River to build a colony.  Why was the region settled? Because the weather was got for cotton planting, and there was water for transportation And coal to sell for money.  What are the cultures/lifestyles of your region?  New Orleans is also the birthplace of jazz. African American created this new style of music. One he most famous jazz musicians of all time was Louis Armstrong, know for his great trumpet

Geography Questions  What are the major landforms?  Appalachian mountains.  How are the natural resources of your region used today?  Coal is used to heat homes and produce electricity.  What are the geographic features that make the region different from the other regions?  The features is the John F. Kennedy space center when in 1961 they launched a rocket into space.  What is the elevation of the region?  Most elevation is o-600 and the Appalachian mountians are about 1,000- 3,100.
