3 Step 1 Gather your tools – Yarn Pay attention to yard when picking project Pay attention to make up of yarn tell feel – Give example – Hook/knitting needle Pay attention to hook/knitting needle that’s recommended for that type of yarn – Give Example – Instructions/Video Be sure it’s in English and watch it entirely before following them yourself – Tell story

4 Step 2 Slip knot (crocheting) – Lay “short” end over “long” end place hook in and tug center string on the left through Casting on (knitting) – Form a slip knot with yarn on needle have a long tail behind it. Grab “working” yarn and tail in your middle, birdy, and pinky fingers, separate the “working” yarn and the long tail with your thumb and index finger then bring your palm up. Take needle and loop it under the string closest to your outside thumb, put needle over yarn on index finger, pull your new cast on tight but not too tight to where you cant “work” it. – Start video about 2:16 to 2:37

5 Step 3 Chain – Creates a base for work to begin Bring “working” yarn over the back of crochet hook, use your hooked part of the crochet hook to pull the working yarn through the loop. Stich – Continues on the base cast on Stick needle through first stich in cast on, loop yarn between them pull needle towards you to create loop. Push off the stich you went through on your original needle.
