Step 2 Slip knot (crocheting) – Lay “short” end over “long” end place hook in and tug center string on the left through Casting on (knitting) – Form a slip knot with yarn on needle have a long tail behind it. Grab “working” yarn and tail in your middle, birdy, and pinky fingers, separate the “working” yarn and the long tail with your thumb and index finger then bring your palm up.
