CITY OF PALM COAST 2011 ELECTION MAYOR SEAT 1 SEAT 3

Decisions  Decisions Made Early voting to be held for the primary and general elections for two weeks at the Supervisor of Elections office.  Decisions Pending Additional Information Polling locations Charter Amendment for changing years for City elections

Polling Locations Where does the City want to hold voting for the primary and general election? OPTION ONE All 21 precincts? Precinct 9 will be absorbed by Precincts 19 and 22. Precinct 21 will move to Matanzas High School. The Supervisor of Elections estimates that there will need to be 6-7 workers at each precinct. This includes a clerk, assistant clerk, a deputy, and 3 to 4 inspection workers, and a rider with the clerk for each precinct to and from the polling location. Cost per day per precinct is approximately $1,000.00

Polling Locations Option Two Mass voting – Any registered voter can vote at any location and will not limited to one’s own precinct. 6 locations-each to house 3 Electronic Voter Identification (EViD) machines. *Must be able to connect to a phone line. Suggested Choices: Flagler County Public Library? Palm Coast Community Center? Belle Terre Elementary? Buddy Taylor Middle School? Flagler County Schools? (Old Administration Building) Matanzas High School? or Yacht Club? The Supervisor of Elections office estimates that by conducting a mass voting, the number of workers needed may be up to 9 per location per day. For example, 2 ballot boxes with 2 Clerks, 2 Assistants, 1 Deputy Clerk, and 2 Inspectors. Two runners for all 6 locations per day. Cost per day per location will be approximately $1,000.

Pros to Mass Voting – Fast voter check in – All electronic voting – Convenience of voting at any of the 6 locations – 6 styles of ballots versus 21 – Saves money with less employees to train 54 versus 147 employees
