2 Warmup – 8/26 True or False? You can get out of your seat at any time. The teacher will call on you as soon as you raise your hand. You don’t have to pick up other people’s trash. We gather by the door before the bell rings.

3 Warmup – 8/27 Write a paragraph answering the following… What is History? What does history mean to you and your family?

4 What is History? Cornell Notes Fill out information at the top of your Cornell Note form Write notes from the board answering the Essential Question, “What is History”? Write 2 questions in the margin on the side. Write a short summary answering “What is History”

History is an account of the past Accounts/narratives differ depending on one’s perspective We rely on evidence to construct our accounts of the past We must question the reliability of each piece of evidence Any single piece of evidence is insufficient We must consult multiple pieces of evidence in order to build a plausible account
