1. Web is public space. So, when we are connected to it we have to follow some rules. What is illegal Offline is illegal Online!!! Internet gives us opportunities to chat with whoever we want, but as users we have some responsibilities. For Instance, we are responsible for the content and the legality of our own website and what we post there.

2. With the term “Netiquette” we name a total of rules for the peaceful and friendly living together” in the virtual worlds. We mention here some of the basic rules:  Always remember that in other utmost is a person, and not a machine, even if you use it in order to discuss.  Follow the same rules of good behavior that you have also learned in the genuine life.  Respect the privacy of others. It is not correct to read the e-mails of others, or searching their files.

3. Privacy policy protects the way that an idea is set. Copying something from the Internet for our personal matter is allowed, but saying that it is truly ours is prohibited. Promotion of illegal material (e.g. movie/music downloading), without allowance is forbidden even when it serves only us.

4. You should: ● Help your peers and your younger friends to surf safely the Net, by setting an example with your behaviour. ● Do not harass(disturb) others online for no reason. ● Respect personal data of other users and don’t upload such data without their approval. ● Always check the validity of the information you find online, by crossing for example different websites. ● Express yourself freely online but always with respect to other users.

5. Honor copyrights of the other users online. Keep your passwords secret. Protect your appearance online, as you do in the real word. Stay clear of conversations with strangers and report suspicious and/or provocative behaviours online. Navigate to websites compatible with your age, trust the age-related restrictions that websites put and know any terms of use and private policies.

6. Taking into account the fundamental role of educational systems for realizing the dangers of surfing online while having considered necessary a structured framework dealing with the issue, the incorporation of activities concerning safe use of the Internet in the curriculum is an urgent need. This need has a special correspondence to the European Union area, where each and every country is developing educational programs that raise that awareness of security issues online in the educational fields.
