QIPP Topics 15/16 ProjectDescription Respiratory Promote CCG COPD and asthma guidance Inhaler switches Education (practice nurses and GPs) Appliances and dressings Education (prescribing clerks, practice nurses) Work with specialist stoma nurses to review patients Promote CCG guidance and formularies Paracetamol Public campaign raising awareness of spend on this and encourage patients to self care CCG position statement Z drugs, temazepam and nitrazepam Public campaign to raise awareness of risk to patients on long term sleeping tabs Utilise Wellbeing service more in the first instance to stop patients requesting sleeping tabs. Technician switches Cost effective switches and repatriating red drugs back to secondary care

QIPP Topics 15/16 ProjectDescription Blood glucose testing strips Continue to promote adherence to blood glucose meter formulary Pregabalin Optimise dosing schedule Target patients over max daily dose, with no indication for pregabalin Patients in whom it is recorded as not being effective but is still being prescribed Work with IHT pain clinic and NSFT Optimise Rx Create and update profile to reflect QIPP priorities/safety/quality Antibiotics Work with infection control and practices to reduce inappropriate prescribing of antibiotics
