UNECE Regional TIR Seminar Sofia, 11-12 May 2006 4 Roles and responsibilities of national associations (3) -Transmission to the competent authorities of the following documentation and information:  International guarantee system: A certified copy of the insurance or financial guarantee contract as well as any modifications thereto; A copy of the (annually to be renewed) insurance certificate.

UNECE Regional TIR Seminar Sofia, 11-12 May 2006 7 Roles and responsibilities of TIR Carnet Holders (2) -Mounting of the TIR plate on road vehicles and containers; -Keeping the vehicle in conformity with the provisions of the Convention; -Presentation at Customs offices of departure, en route and destination.

UNECE Regional TIR Seminar Sofia, 11-12 May 2006 8 Roles and responsibilities of the International organization -Procurement of the acceptance of the national guaranteeing association by an international financial system; -Procurement of the authorization to print and distribute TIR Carnets and to take on responsibility for the effective organization and functioning of an international guarantee system, granted by the TIR Administrative Committee;

UNECE Regional TIR Seminar Sofia, 11-12 May 2006 9 Roles and responsibilities of the International organization (2) -Conclusion of written agreements on the functioning of the international guarantee system with national guaranteeing associations; -Information to all national guaranteeing associations and to national Customs authorities on the authorization of new guaranteeing associations;

UNECE Regional TIR Seminar Sofia, 11-12 May 2006 10 Roles and responsibilities of the International organization (3) -Administration of the TIR Carnet system, including the central printing and distribution of TIR Carnets to national guaranteeing associations; -Administration of the TIR guarantee system; -Representation concerning the TIR system - Fulfil all requirements included in the UNECE- IRU Agreement.
