Agile organization defined: identifies a set of business capabilities central to high-profitability operations & builds virtual organizations around those capabilities (Pearce & Robinson, 2011) Virtual organization defined: temporary network of independent companies – suppliers, subcontractors – linked by info tech to share skills, access to markets, & costs (Pearce & Robinson, 2011) Outsourcing defined: obtaining work previous done by inside employees from sources outside the company (Pearce & Robinson, 2011)  Modular Organization  Self-contained companies contribute primary support activity.  Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)  Rapidly growing segment in services industry worldwide.
