3 Why does ROSS Reports matter? We want people to be more effective in the work that they do. We want to help individuals help themselves, so they can go home at night safe and satisfied that they’ve done well. We want to be the information leaders in the 21 st Century.

4 Why does ROSS Reports matter? Report utilization; why plug in data into day- to-day ops? Makes my job easier. Be able to answer questions quickly. Save me time to do other parts of my job. Keep from repetition. Know what reports are capable of doing. Knowing what resources are capable of doing. Managing resources. Better informed decisions. Manage risk. Using data improves data integrity in data base.

6 The ROSS Reports Management Board The ROSS Reports Management Board (RRMB) believes that the best way to support our customers is by maintaining a collection of standard reports designed to deliver a broad range of information most commonly used to support daily operations and operational decision-making.

8 Basic User Training - Basic User of Standard and User Community (UC) Reports Basic User training is intended to give access to standard and user community reports. It is the most basic level of training—allowing an understanding of folder structure and navigation—and provides the level of skill most needed to support day –to-day operations.

9 Basic User Training & Tools Basic Reports Module (Self-Guided or Instructor-led). Accessed through the ROSS webpage. Completion Time, approx. 4 hours. Recently updated, 04/05/13.

10 Basic User Training & Tools Basic Reports Module Objectives:  Working with Standard and UC reports  Scheduling report  Understanding Cognos Viewer  Saving/Exporting reports in many different formats  Using preset filters  Familiarity with ROSS Reports Index  Introduction to ROSS Terminology

11 User Community Reports We want these reports to be accessible, and so we must also develop the necessary awareness and training to make standard reports readily available to users having only a basic level of skill.
