2 What is allergy? An allergy is an immune system disease. The basis of the disease is that certain components of our immune system recognizes as foreign agents and harmful substances the protein that are normally in the environment (mold, pollen, dust, etc.) An allergy is an immune system disease. 3 How react the body to allergy? As a protection to an outbreak of allergy your body releases high amounts of histamine-mediated immune mechanism responsible for the allergic, IgE.
