2 There are 90 black cows and 10 brown cows in a herd of 100 cows.
a) Use the best word from the list to complete each sentence below. Qualitative Continuous Quantitative Primary Non numerical data “All of these cats are blue” Can take any value on a continuous numerical scale. Numerical data “There are 17 dogs” Data you have gathered yourself. The colours of the cows are data. The number of cows are data. Qualitative Quantitative After looking at theses definitions we can then determine which word fits which box, It will then be either “qualitative” or “quantitative”

3 The farmer wants to work out the average amount of milk produced per cow by the herd.
He will take a 10% stratified sample. b) Write down how he could do this… He needs to find 10% of all of the cows, which is 10. After that he needs to divide 90 by 100 and times your answer by 10. After this then do the same, but using 10 instead of 90 for the brown cows. So the answer is… 9 black and one brown cow which is randomly selected.
