3 Research Councils Joint Skills Statement [JSS] To provide universities with a clear and consistent message aimed at helping them to ensure that all research training was of the highest standard, across all disciplines. 5 Roberts Review SET for success [2002] … the minimum standards should include the provision of at least two weeks dedicated training a year, principally in transferable skills Accountability Annual Roberts Reports from HEIs RCUK – institutions will wish to monitor their skills development programmes internally for their own business reasons. The RCs monitoring will focus on what the additional funding has enabled institutions to achieve.
