(PIL) was founded Autumn 2002 by 9 companies (7 venders, 1 service provider and 1 university) for realizing new photonic network control protocols based on photonic technologies for managed networks. The Japanese government is supporting PIL. NICT Kei-han-na Consortium is targeting GMPLS E-NNI protocol. It is demonstrated at MPLS 2005 booth.
