2 Business Problem Imperative that we offer diverse methods of teaching that cater to the different learning styles of each child Currently limited to flash cards and workbooks Need more advanced solutions that provide: –Variety of ways to present data –Introduce and acclimate our students to learning and performing in a technological environment

3 Proposed Solution Create a program that allows a student to practice basic math, reading, and colors that adapts to accommodate preschool and elementary school-aged children

4 System Functionality The application should identify itself by copy write and version upon launch The application should be secure and prompt the student for a user name and password The application should provide an interface that allows a student to identify a color by sight and by text

5 System Functionality (cont.) The application should provide an interface that allows a student to practice basic addition and subtraction –The application should provide feedback as to whether or not the student’s submitted answer is correct. The application should provide an interface that allows a student to identify different animals by picture and text The student should be able to reset the application back to its initial state

6 Inputs Secure Login –the student should enter an assigned username and password. Addition & Subtraction –the student should enter a numeric answer based on two numbers (i.e. 1 + 1 = ?) Colors –the student should click a button to change the button to the appropriate color (input – click from user). Animals –the student should click a button to change the background of the button to the appropriate picture. (input – click from user)

7 Outputs Secure Login –If the login is successful the student should gain access to the application –If the login is incorrect, the student should receive an error message and be prompted to renter their credentials Addition & Subtraction –A response should be displayed as to whether or not the students answer is correct Colors –When clicked, the button should change to the appropriate color Animals –When clicked, the button should change to the appropriate picture
