2 Basic facts This animal is a mammal. The size of this animal is 90-140kg. One or two cubs are born at a time. Giant pandas live in Asia. Giant pandas lives for 20 years.

3 Habitat The mountains where they live are covered with forests of edible bamboo. The Panda’s habitat has many streams, rivers and waterfalls.

4 Diet Panda’s eat bamboo shoots, stems and leaves. These big animals eat up to 85 pounds Tibetan legend suggest the panda drinks so much water that they become drunk

5 Place in the Food Chain A Giant Panda is a herbivore. This means they only eat plants.

6 Why is this Animal Endangered? In China people are poaching the pandas. Pandas are hunted for their beautiful black and white fur. When people move into panda’s habitat and chop down the bamboo, the panda die.

7 Glossary Poaching: shooting with a gun. Herbivore: plant eater Endangered species: A species of animal or plant that is in danger of becoming extinct. Bamboo: Bamboo’s like grass on a stick Edible: can eat Mammal: warm blooded animal

8 About the Author My name is Michelle. I am 7 years old. I have a sister and her name is Vivian. I like drawing flowers, roses and pandas. I was going to do polar bears but I chose pandas instead. My favourite fruit is strawberries.
