3. Example 3 x 3 = 9 Review of Multiplication Think of it like this; take a group of 3 bottles of water and draw it 3 times. Then add them all up together. The first number is the number of water bottles in the first group. EX; you would count out 3 bottles of water The second number is how many groups to draw out or count. EX; you would copy your first group3 times. The last number is your answer! Group 1 Group 2 Group 3

12.  You just used bottles of water to help you multiply! Good job! Now imagine if multiplied every bottle of water you drink a day by how many people are in the United States…Lets say you drink 3 bottles of water a day and that there are 315 million people in the United States today. What if every person in the US drinks 3 bottles of water a day as well.  Then we would have to multiply 3 x 315 million!!! And that equals a lot of water bottles being dumped in landfills somewhere. These water bottles do not break down very easily at all and take up a lot of space in the environment. So remember to recycle, reuse water bottles or buy a water jug that can be reused over and over.  Also remember when your multiplying to take your time and work it out on paper.
