S: Examine the influence of business, marketing and/or advertising

Advertising and Marketing Advertising on television is big business! It is a commercial venture and marketing dream (strategies employed by companies to increase sales of their product or service).

A most effective method of marketing is to release television campaigns in combination with other forms of advertising such as on buses, in magazines and on billboards at train stations. On average people will have seen approx two million ads by the age sixty five.

Free-to-air television accounts for the second highest advertising expenditure in Australia (34% of total advertising or $3.2 billion). Pay television is $150 million Controversial advertisements create large- scale interest and are not only released on television but also are discussed and debated in print media.

‘So where the bloody hell are you?’ In 2005/06 Tourism Australia produced and exported a number of advertisements to attract international visitors United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, China and New Zealand.

* So where the bloody hell are you? (2005/2006) * Throw another shrimp on the Barbie? (1984) * Come walkabout with me. (2008/2009) Hahn superdry commercial: purchase ringtone, screened during sporting matches
