Definition of science SCIENCE is a systematic enterprise of gathering knowledge about the world and organizing and condensing that knowledge into testable laws and theories Two major groups of science: 1 – natural sciences (study natural phenomena) 2 – social sciences (study human behaviour and societies)

Alfred Nobel (1833 - 1896) a Swedish chemist, engineer, innovator, armaments manufacturer and the inventor of dynamite Born in Stockholm on 21 October 1833, he went with his family to Saint Petersburg in 1842 where he studied chemistry At the age of 18, he went to the United States to study chemistry for four years devoted himself to the study of explosives, and especially to the safe manufacture and use of nitroglycerine The foundations of the Nobel Prize were laid in 1895 when Alfred Nobel wrote his last will Nobel demonstrated his explosive for the first time that year, at a quarry in Redhill, Surrey, England Nobel had also considered naming the highly powerful substance "Nobels Safety Powder", but settled with Dynamite instead, referring to the Greek word for 'power'.
