5 Evidence Brought Against Criminal
The Double DNA Knife Raffaele, Knox’s boyfriend, had a knife in his apartment with the victim, Meredith Kercher’s, DNA on the blade and Amanda Knox’s on the handle. Luminol Traces Luminol is used by crime scene investigators to detect blood that is invisible to the naked eye. Someone had blood on their feet in the home which was compatible with Amanda Knox’s feet. The footprints contained her DNA. The Staged Burglary There was no attempted entry way, an obvious staged ransacked room, and glass that was broken after the ransacking. It was to divert suspicion from residents and friends. Amanda Knox was the only one home that night. Alibi is a lie It was said she was on her computer all night, but there was no activity. She also said she was at her friend’s house, but she was seen near the crime scene. Knox also said she was asleep at 10:30 a.m. still, but there was activity on Rafeale’s phone at 5:32 a.m.

6 Evidence Brought Against Criminal
Behavior During Trial She was laughing and kissing/hugging Raffaele the day they found Meredith. When she was fingerprinted, Knox freaked out. Knox began hitting herself in the head and making a scene. People told the police that Knox’s behavior was very peculiar, and she should be considered as a suspect. She also knew details about the crime that she should not have known if she did not commit the crime.

7 Sentence Knox received 28 years and 6 months in prison in Italy.
The verdict was overturned though in March of 2015, and she cannot be retried for the murder of Meredith Kercher.

8 Theory That Explains Her Deviant Behavior
Differential-Association Theory I believe differential-association theory best describes Knox’s behavior because once she went to college, she started joining in criminal activity. It began with partying at the Greek parties, which were known for getting out of hand. She participated in under aged drinking and drugs. In high school, she was not much of a partier because of her parents. When she went away though, she could do whatever she wanted and learned from other people. College in the USA was just the beginning of Knox breaking the law. Whenever she got to Italy, she met Raffaele. He was very much into drugs and a bad influence on Knox. They were constantly together and Knox’s roommates did not like him very much. She became a different person with him. It was most likely Raffaele who helped Knox think of a way to get rid of Meredith and try to hide the evidence. He hid evidence at his apartment and lied for her. Knox was never as deviant as she was when she was with Raffaele. Theory That Explains Her Deviant Behavior
