2 Rain falling slowly Moistening the trees and road Peace and beauty. Haiku

3 Quiet, calm and serene Soft, warm and safe In a mother’s arms.

4 So much depends upon a bright, blue pen Hard and pointy touch Getting ready to write. Red Wheel Barrow

5 So much depends upon An old, green school chair Quietly sitting in the corner Sit on it I dare! Red Wheel Barrow

6 Reflections resting on the calm water surface, The cold, harsh breeze stirs the trees, The smell of fresh laid snow covering the mountains, The taste of a new day. Ekphrastic

7 Cranky and stern, never doing its job right Dishes always coming out dirty, oh what a sight Like a thundering storm bellowing in the night Then when discovered, quiet as a kite. Metaphor

8 Thongs screaming loudly in pain As he walks on a bindii patch Blissfully unaware of the distress he is causing Like little needles stabbing unmercifully Personification

9 The chair protested loudly when the obese lady sat on it. Creaking and groaning it felt overwhelmed When would it all end? When the plate was empty. Personification

10 The clothesline sang happily As the washing dried in the wind While leaves danced across the yard And clouds tiptoed overhead. Personification
